Missouri Actor Cons Unsuspecting Citizens
Missouri-born actor Nick Coleman doesn't usually break the law... and he doesn't usually operate as a con man. But in three upcoming episodes of the hit ABC News series "What Would You Do?", that's exactly what he's doing.
New York, NY -- October 1, 2010
- Nick Coleman will be appearing as an undercover actor in multiple episodes of "What Would You Do?" in the upcoming fall season, set to begin airing in October.
- "What Would You Do?" is an ABC primetime television series utilizing
hidden cameras and actors to stage ethically sensitive scenarios, often
uncovering unexpected social behaviors.
- From the ABC Press Release: “What Would You Do?” has won awards from the Chicago International Television Festival, and the Avon Foundation’s 2006 Voice of Change award for exposing “injustice and wrongdoing against women and bringing the message of domestic violence to the mainstream.” The Columbia Journalism Review has called the program “a Candid Camera of Ethics.”
- Nick Coleman is a 1997 graduate of Nixa High School, where he studied under Drama teachers Bill Townsend and Kayla Beatty. After graduation, Nick attended Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) on Theater and English scholarships. His mother, Debby Talbert, and step-father, Les MacLaren, are both Nixa residents. His father, Emmet Coleman, was a longtime resident of West Plains, Missouri.
- While studying at SMSU, Nick performed in University Theatre Department shows, at the Vandivort Center Theater and the Springfield Little Theatre (both in Downtown Springfield, Missouri), as well as the annual SMSU Tent Theater.
- Nick Coleman currently resides in New York, NY where he regularly performs in Off-Off Broadway theatre, in films, and on television.
- Nick's sister, Casey MacLaren, was an actress in the 2010 Sundance Award-Winning Feature Film "Winter's Bone".

Nick Coleman is an actor, filmmaker, and photographer originally from West Plains and Nixa, Missouri. After studying Theatre at Southwest Missouri State University, Nick moved to New York, NY where he is pursuing a career as an actor and photographer. As an actor, Nick has been reviewed by the New York Times, and can be seen in daytime television shows such as 'One Life to Live'. As a photographer, Nick was recently recognized as one of the Top-5 New York Headshot Photographers by the readers of Backstage Magazine.
