Trouble Sleeping

I’m having trouble sleeping. A lot of trouble, actually. And I’m not sure why.

Basically, I go sleep, and after an hour or so, I wake up feeling…weird. I’m not in pain, no racing pulse, just hyper-aware and incredibly uncomfortable in my skin. Last night I tried taking Tylenol PM before bed, but the same thing happened#–only when I got up to walk around and try to tire out, I was so drugged I stumbled around aimlessly, numb to the world. When I lay back down I still couldn’t sleep. This has been going on for several days, and now I’m so tiiiiired during the day. I’m only sleeping a few hours at night because of this.

I’ve added a progress bar on the right so you can hold me accountable on rewriting Ozark Mile. If you don’t see the bar move every couple of days, please yell at me#–loudly. KidSis has this on her site, and John August turned me on to it as well. I got the code from manbyteshollywood and modified it a bit.

No other news to speak of#–I have a few auditions this week (EPA open calls), so I have a few chances to meet casting people I haven’t yet encountered. I’m working on a new monologue, and that’s always a scary thing to introduce in an audition. It makes me want to say "Hi, just to let you know, this is my first time trying out this piece. If it sucks, tell me, so I can change it for the next round."

    Need sleeping help?

The best cure I know…a small glass of cream sherry (while the Stone Hill variety is my favorite, I’m sure another brand would work). I kid you not…it knocks me out even during the most crazy and stressful of times.

That’s not a bad idea. I’m been doing some reading, and it looks like my problem is a lack of “bedtime routine”. I never have the same bedtime and the same set of actions before bed.

Melatonin is the key to a good night’s rest.

Brother, maybe you can’t sleep because you know that you’re going to be missing your youngest sisters first Stage Managing show. That would keep me up at night. Or maybe….you miss your family and friends in Missouri WAY TOO MUCH! I personally think it’s the first one..but that’s me.

Now if I can only figure out a way to stimulate my melatonin levels…
